Canterbury skiers dominated the podium of ‘The North Face Frontier’ Men’s Ski Competition in Queenstown, with Jamesa Hampton and Craig Murray claiming a step each.
Christchurch’s Hampton took top honours with a big technical run through the Remarkable’s Atla Chutes, while Murray, New Zealand’s top ranked Free Ride World Tour skier claimed the bronze medal.
‘I’m absolutely stoked, it was a bit sketchy,’ said Hampton.
‘I would have liked to have been in more control, but it all came together, I came down and managed to keep it under control into the lake and bringing it to the finish line,’ Hampton added.
The North Face Frontier is New Zealand’s premier back country ski event and is part of the Winter Games NZ.
