Round three of the Premier Volleyball League began last at Pioneer Stadium with some great match ups.
On the women’s side, SVC Silverbacks and Greybacks both came away with 3:0 wins over Pioneer Stingers and CFSA respectively. The Greybacks notched up their first win in Division 1 after returning to the big show from Division 2. The Division 1 competition now has 5 teams meaning Pioneer A had the bye.
The Silverbacks won their seventh match on the bounce, after posting a perfect six from six record through rounds one and two without dropping a set. They are looking in ominous form with the first of three Southern Zone tournaments taking place this weekend.
The Men have stuck to the same format with only four teams in Div 1. In last nights action we saw the two big guns Pioneer A and Shirley Silverbacks take on Phoenix and Pioneer B. Both Shirley and Pioneer had 3:0 wins but didn’t have it all there own way in patches.
The Silverbacks again lead the way in the men’s competition, with seven wins to match their women’s team, and only dropping one set way back in their opening match against Pioneer A.
Pioneer A 3-0 Phoenix
SVC Silverbacks 3-0 Pioneer B
SVC Silverbacks 3-0 Pioneer Stingers
SVC Greybacks 3-0 CFSA
