Tessa Boagni found a silver lining when her Malaysian Women’s basketball League side, the Hatchers Valhyries were knocked out of the competition in the semi-finals.
A mammoth effort from the Christchurch Girls High School Old Girl, recording a game high 23 points,12 rebounds and 3 steals, couldn’t save her side from being pipped 69-65.
The 22-year-old joked that despite finishing 2nd runner up, her side deserved a gold in the dancing competition!
Boagni is heading home for Christmas and looking forward to spending time with the family over the break as she eyes up her next professional contract.
Playing for the Kuala Lumpur based side was Boagnis first professional contract since finishing Cal State University earlier this year. She is also accomplished volleyball player having been awarded the MVP awards at both the Basketball and Volleyball National Secondary School champs in 2013.
