Christchurch schools stood out at the South Island Secondary Schools Rowing Championship at Lake Ruatanuwha with the 3 best overall schools all coming from the Garden City.
It was the first time the regatta had been held over 3 days, with heats starting on Friday afternoon. Overall the weather was perfect all weekend with a slight tail wind building in the afternoons on both Saturday and Sunday to produce quick times. .
Christchurch Boys High School won the overall points bell with 86 points, ahead of Rangi Ruri on 59 points and St Andrews on 55 points.

Christchurch Boys winning the Boys U18 8+ in a time of 5:51 – a course record in that event.
